hdate software package provides Provides the hcal and hdate binaries that help use hebrew dates, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hdate
hdate is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hdate package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hdate *
You will get with hdate package name, version, architecture and description in a table
